As a Notary Public, I want to give you the best possible service. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service provided to you then you should inform me immediately so that I can do our best to resolve the problem for you.

Submitting a Complaint

If, however, I’m unable to resolve the matter to your satisfaction, you can complain to The Notaries Society of which I am a member, who have a complaints procedure which is approved by the Faculty Office. This procedure is free to use and is designed to provide a quick resolution to any dispute.

Submitting a Complaint to the Legal Ombudsman
If, after your complaint has been considered under the Notaries Society Approved Complaints Procedure, you’re still unhappy with the result, you may (at the end of that procedure or after a period of eight weeks from the date you first notified me you were dissatisfied) make your complaint to the Legal Ombudsman. Established under the Legal Services Act 2007, this is an independent complaints body that deals with legal services complaints.
You have six months from the conclusion of the complaint process in which to complain to the Legal Ombudsman. You can do so by post, email or telephone as detailed below:
